Merseyside ICT has partnered with Vodafone, the mobile communications giant to bring you Software City supported by Brabners Chaffe Street, the Liverpool based solicitors, and ICDC, the International Centre for Digital Content.
A number of software businesses have set up in or relocated to Merseyside in the recent months due to the financing available, the business suppport and networks and the cost of doing business. Software City celebrates this success and is using it as a springboard to encourage more investment into software companies in the sub-region.
There are two parts to the event as follows:
Innovative Ideas for Investors
Pre-selected entrepreneurs, looking for investment into their business and how to take it to the next stage, will present their business plan to a panel of investors. This panel will feedback on the feasibility of the business and what else the entrepreneur would need to do in order to be more successful.
This part of the event will be in front of an audience of up to 100 entrepreneurs and interested parties and is supported by PKF Accountants. There will be two sessions for an hour each and these will be made up of a 5 minute overview from the entrepreneur and feedback for 10 minutes from the panel.
Software City Celebration
In the early evening immediately after the afternoon event will be a showcase reception. Over 250 stakeholders, business leaders, innovative entrepreneurs, investors and the media will come together to see the MICT promotional film and hear an overview of the direction in which the region is heading and how it plans to become a ‘Software City’.
Doug Richard, United Kingdom-based Californian entrepreneur and technology specialist who shot to prominence as a result of the BBC programme Dragons' Den, will be representing the best features of entrepreneurialism and put Merseyside’s software industry into a national context.
We will be launching our DVD which highlights the variety of software businesses in the region and the investment opportunities that are available and there will be comments from a Vodafone representative.
The rest of the evening will be open networking. The event is by invitation only so to express your interest in either the afternoon surgery and/ or the evening reception please email Helen Cross
