Intellectual Property Rights and Financial Management in European Collaborative R&D
Date: Thursday 8th November 2007
Time: 9.30am - 4pm
Place: RTC North, Knowsley, Merseyside
Financial management and Intellectual Property Rights are key issues for any coordinator or participant in collaborative projects. The rules and guidelines are often laborious to read and difficult to implement, and many consortia fail to address these issues properly. This workshop will provide you with a full understanding of IP and Financial Management in EU collaborative R&D.
Workshop outline:
The workshop will address key financial issues such as:
- The financial role the Consortium and Coordinator
- Audits
- Finance in the FP7 Context
- Cost models and eligible costs
- Cash flow and reimbursement
- Cost statements and certificates
Questions relating to Intellectual Property answered during the workshop include:
- Do you need to share your existing knowledge with partners as part of a project
- Who will own the results generated by the project?
- How will the results be protected and by whom?
- Who will have access to the results for exploitation and under what terms?
- How will the results of the project be disseminated?
Lunch will be provided and there will be opportunities for further discussion and networking. For full details of the workshop programme see the attached file.
Who should attend?
The workshop will be valuable for anyone wishing to participate in European collaborative R&D. With limited spaces available, the workshop will be highly interactive and practically orientated.
In short anyone with a high-level interest in collaborative research & development projects whether that be researchers, administrators or project managers.
No prior experience of European collaborative projects is required.
